HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH???

I think someone played a little bit too much today. We went down to the water of Puget Sound to let Willow play in the water and she tried to get every little rock we threw into the water for her.

She does love to play in the water but has not yet tried to swim. We will help her with that later as the air and water warm up a little more.

Yes, I will try really hard to get a video of her first time swimming if I can.  Right now I think she just wants to sleep.

IS IT SPRING YET??

Well, Little Willow, it was 65 degrees today but I am afraid that tomorrow will be filled with rain and then the next day and the next day.  Well, I think you get the idea.

But don't give up...we will be complaining about the heat soon enough!!

Little Willow has decided that it is just too cold and windy to stay outside for very long.  So she has been staying under her soft, warm blanket most of the day. Of course, I too, have been staying in out of the cold weather.  And since the Flu has been such a terrifying illness I am happy to stay home and keep well.

But several of my flowers are starting to bloom already and a beautiful Mum I have in a pot has continued to put out small blossoms all winter, even though the temperatures have been in the teens it doesn't seem to bother it. And we are seeing the sun on most days even if it is for just a little bit and it feels wonderful!

Don't worry Little Willow...Spring is just around the corner!!!

It is not known who replied, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead letter office of the US Postal Service.

Our 14-year-old dog, Abbey, died last month.  The day after she died. my 4-year-old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey..she asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize here.  I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:

Dear God,

Will you please take care of my dog?  She died yesterday and is with you in heaven.  I miss her very much.  I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.

I hope you will play with her...She likes to play with balls and to swim.  I am sending a picture of her so when you see her you will know that she is my dog.  I really miss her.

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it.  Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lot's of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven.  That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office.  A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet.  I told her that I thought he had.

Yesterday there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed to  "Meredith" in an unfamiliar hand...Meredith opened it.  Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called 'When a Pet Dies'.  Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope.  On the opposite page were the picture of Abbey and Meredith and this note:

Dear Meredith,

Abbey arrived safely in heaven.

Having the picture was a big help.  I recognized Abbey right away.

Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart.  Abbey loved being your dog.  Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.

Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me.  What a wonderful mother you have.  I picked her especially for you.  I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.  By the way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love.

I THINK IT IS GOING TO SNOW AT MY HOUSE!!!!

It has gotten very cold here lately so I have my favorite fuzzy blanket in my snuggly bed...now I am very comfortable.

The Weatherman said we may have a bit of snow this week.  Don't tell mom but I hope there is enough for me to play in this time.  I am sure mom will post pictures is when it does snow!!  Stay Tuned!!!

MOM IS GOING TO TRY!

 

Yes, Mom told me she will try to start Blogging again and she is sorry she has kept me away from this site for such a long time.

I am happy to report that I have been living a wonderful life filled with many fun adventures, a few unplanned visits to the Vet, several visits to the Beach(!) but no camping trips for a while.

During the previous year, mom had to ride with 3 gentlemen that she reported back to me that were very kind and good looking!  They took her to a place called a Hospital and they would not let me go there to see her!  Mom told me her heart was hurting her so they stopped her heart then shocked it back in rhythm again.

She said that the procedure really was not very scary because the Specialist was very kind and explained the entire process to her.  They gave her some kind of juice..maybe Diet Pepsi cause she really likes that...And it made her close her eyes and start to rest.  She woke up and felt like nothing had happened until the doctor asked her how she felt. She said...have you done anything yet?  And they had stopped her heart and made is run smoothly again that fast!!!

So 30 minutes later she and my dad were on their way home.  The only thing she felt as they were leaving was that her body was full of a million needles..  The Doctor guessed that is was because she had a higher amount of energy in her body than most people.  Yeah, she is always full of energy every day!  He also told her that she had done something no one else has ever done....she had spoken something as he shocked her heart.  She just smiled and said yes, I am sure I know just what it was I said, And thank you for telling me I did that.too.
So mom is doing wonderful, dad is also happy and healthy and I am still the same size and still weigh just under 8 pounds.  And I will be 4 years old this summer!!!  Mom is shocked how much time has passed since I found them and asked them to be my family. And our adventures are endless.  I have a fabulous life with my wonderful family!

It is good to be back in Bloggerland!!     ALERT...ALERT!!!!  MOM JUST REALIZED THAT I WILL ACTUALLY BE 5 YEARS OLD THE END OF MAY!!!  Time is sure racing by for us!!

I LOVE TO RUN LIKE THE WIND!

I was able to do some running today on the beach!!!  I didn't even mind that I had to wear a collar and my sweater cause I still had a lot of fun.

Life is still filled with a lot of joy and I have several doggie friends here where we live. Some of us even get to go on walks together!

But I am looking forward to Spring coming our way. We live where it rains a lot so I want a warm Spring to arrive real soon.

BRRRR, it is getting colder here!

Yes, Little Willow says she doesn't like this cold weather we are having now that it is November. She loves to sleep on top anything available!!

In 6 days Willow will already be 2 and 1/2 years old. The days are passing so quickly now that we all seem to be so happy.  It is strange how that happens. Willow is such a wonderful apartment pup and a joy to all the 150 residents living in this building with us.  She is such a sweet dog!

I GOT SOMETHING NEW!

MY NEW BED!!

I have to be honest here....I had to get a new bed because I had beat up my other bed.  But it sure was a lot of fun throwing it around a lot and chewing like I was trying to kill it too!  Oh I had so much fun!

But Mom said she was tired of cleaning up all the crazy stuffing that kept appearing all over her pretty rug.

 

So here is mom's proof that I did try to eat my bed!

And the stuffing did end up on Mom's rug!

THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA LIVES HERE!

I have not been feeling well for the last 2 days so I am spending my nights on the air bed. And in this photo is the Princess and the Pea theme.  As soon as I stacked the pillows and blankets so hub could help me put everything away Willow decided that it was a perfect spot for her to spend the day.

You can imagine the terrible look I got as I took down her tower. But she still sleeps real close to me since I have acquired this terrible cold.  It is wonderful to have such a loving and caring little dog in our lives.

We love you to the Moon and beyond Little Princess Willow!

I AM WAITING...WAITING!!

Waiting for the elevator so we can go outside.

 Now we are waiting in the elevator so we can get outside. 

I live with mom and dad up on the 4th floor of our apartment building.  So we have to ride the elevator down or we often take the 4 flight of stairs.  Mom  and I the chance to race down the stairs together. 

And I hear reports that soon there will be No more waiting for the elevator so we can get outside in a hurry to do my 'duty'.  And soon there will be no reason to wait for the elevator so we can get back up to our warm apartment.

Mom and Dad have applied for an apartment on the ground floor in the beautiful Courtyard.  And we move in the first of March!  Mom will get to grow her beautiful Hosta plants on and near our own patio. And Mom and Dad will be able to sit out in the sun...or shade and read or eat a meal anytime they want!!!!

But I will not be allowed out in the courtyard.  But lucky for me there is a large sliding glass door with a sliding screen that exits out onto the patio and I will most likely spend most of my time there keeping a careful eye on Mom and Dad.

We are all excited about this move. We have waited for this apartment for almost 18 months.  So Mom is busy packing up the craftroom and making sure everything is organized and ready to be loaded on the moving carts to roll them to our new home.

And it makes it even more fun for us as everyone here is so happy for us and ready to come and visit us on the courtyard.

I KNOW WHAT I WANT!!

This is what happens when humans do not pay attention to a demanding little pup like me.  I will start stacking all my toys on their feet until they notice what I have done. Then I usually get just what I want...for them to start throwing my toys so I can chase them into the kitchen where I  run real fast and slide on the smooth floor all the way to my toy. Then I race back to them so they can throw a toy again.

Yes, this can go on all day!!!

We had a lot of beautiful sunshine today so I spent most of my time following the sun puddles around the livingroom.

We have had a lot of heavy rain this month so I am taking advantage of every sunny moment that comes thru our front window.

And I think it is just about time mom and I took a nice long walk down to the water so I can chase sticks and little stones out into the water. But mom is trying to tell me that it is to cold to play in the ocean water and that I must wait till the air is much warmer.  But mom...the sun is shinning!!!

THE BEST REUNION EVER!!!!

We did it!

 

We finally got up the courage and drove to our Mistaya's new home in the woods.

We have felt that it was best for the 3 of us to never be together again since she found her new forever home.  But because both us had experienced some tough health issues we just felt that we needed to see Mistaya.

 

So we made plans with Mistaya's new family to be there at a special time to surprise Mistaya.

And it was the best reunion ever!!

 

When Mistaya heard me call her name she ran full speed to me and we both tumbled to the ground in pure joy!  She covered my face in a million kisses and my heart just about burst.

 

To feel my fingers run through her super soft coat was magic again.  And holding her close to me was  taking my breath away.

 

As we both rose from the ground Mistaya looked up and saw JW standing near the front of the car waiting his turn.  She jumped and whined and wiggled her whole body in total joy to see him again.

 

Yes, there were a lot of tears but with so much love and joy. 

 

And you can see from the following photo that I really believe Mistaya was smiling!

I love you so much Mistaya and I can see that you are well loved in your home in the woods.  We are so lucky to have found such wonderful people for you to live with that love you as much as we do.

Maybe some day we can visit again Mistaya and maybe you can go with us to your favorite beach.  I miss you  being there with us.  We love you forever little girl and our memories of our visit are so warm and wonderful.

WILLOW IS READY FOR SANTA CLAUS!

Little Willow has found all the sun puddles shining thru our windows.  And we have watched her pull her bed over to one then crawl in and go to sleep.

Willow's Boyfriend!

 I am trying to post a photo of Willow and her boyfriend Pooh Bear but this thing will not let me rotate the photo.  So I will post it anyway as is.

He is a sweet older dog and they both enjoy walking together every chance they get.  This is the only dog she seems to really like to be with. They say dogs know more than people do and I do believe that is true.

Little Willow Camping

We went to the ocean to camp for a few days.  We arrived in shorts and tank tops.  The first thing we did was take Willow down to the beach to run in the sand and surf.

By the time we arrived back to the campsite we needed to change into long pants and sweatshirts. It was cold!!!

And poor little Willow hates wearing her sweater and coats.

 Here she is wearing one of her winter coats during lunch.  No, that is not a hot dog...it is a chew stick.  Yes,  we staged this photo...she does not usually eat at the table!  And she does not drink Coke!!

 She had to wear a sweater and/or coat all the time we were there at the camp. And she also had to be on a leash all day.

This sad little dog was very happy to climb back in our car and head home. In fact she slept all the way home!

The middle of July!!  You'd think we would have to hide from the heat but we had a campfire going all day and into the evening to keep warm.  Yes, we came home 3 days early.  Poor little Willow is not a camper.

Willow is making friends!!

We finally met a dog who lives in out 2nd apartment building at our facility.  And her name is Willow also!  I think we came great friends right away.

I am starting to make lot's of friends here now. I will get  Mom to take her camera with us on our next walk to get some new friend photo's to share with you!!!

And Mom forgot to mention that I am now 1 year old!!!  Almost a big girl now!  Have a great weekend everyone!
