Well, what I didn't realize is that they had bought me a brand new kennel of my very own and I guess I just didn't understand what they were telling me. They had borrowed a used one from the neighbors for the winter and had promised them they would return it in the spring. Oh gee, I wish little puppies could understand things a lot better. Boy am I relieved!!! M.O.M. said she will post pictures very soon of my new kennel and it's new location that will give me lot's more shade to take my naps in. Boy, I feel like I really need a nap right now....this adventure has worn me out!

THE DEMOLITION OF THIS PUPPIES HOME!

A HARD LESSON FOR THIS PUPPY
Yesterday I caused the opportunity to learn another lesson, one that M.O.M. said she hopes I will remember forever.
I was out in our side yard with M.O.M. enjoying the warm sun when I heard a little 4wheeler come around the corner near our mailbox. Instantly I saw 3 border collie type dogs running with this machine with their owner driving. I gave no thought to anything else except the fact that I needed to run out into the street and tell them to stay away from my property!
Apparently this action did not sit well with M.O.M. as I did hear her calling my name and telling me to "Come" and also to "Wait"...which I usually always do. But I just couldn't stop thinking that she really didn't want me to wait or to stop and return to her until these neighborhood dogs were long gone.
Of course I didn't know that she had hurried into the house and had picked up her dog whistle and also a strange thing she later called "a rolled up newspaper". I heard the whistle and thought I heard her voice but I am afraid that I just kept running after these dogs. And then for some reason when she called me again I heard a sound of fear in her voice so I turned and headed back to her. By this time I was quite a ways done our street and almost out of site of her.
As I approached her I sensed that things weren't well between us. M.O.M. scolded me and then I felt the "rolled up newspaper" across my behind. It didn't hurt me but the sound scared me to death!!! Wow, what a surprise. M.O.M. had never raised a hand to me before and I began to sense that not only was she very mad, but she was terribly hurt by my actions.
As she took me to my kennel I realized that she was crying! Oh my gosh...did I do that? Then she sat down beside me in the kennel and told me that my actions certainly could have caused me to be hit and killed by a car on the road, or the dogs---that were all much older and stronger that I am--- could have turned on me and killed me, or I could have gotten confused and lost my way home. This made me very sad and I tried to get as close to her as I could and I even tried to lick her face to say I was sorry. But of course the damage had already been done and even puppies can't take things back.
M.O.M. placed me in my doghouse and left the kennel to give me time to think about what I had done. I think it worked because when we went on our walk today she didn't even need to put a leash on me. I stayed close to her and came immediately when she said "Come" and sat down real fast when she told me to "Wait".
So I hope M.O.M. is over her tears because I am trying to be very good and do everything I can to make her and M.O.D. happy again. I am 10 months old now so I will try to remember my training and my manners from now on. I love you M.O.M. and M.O.D......

NO PUPPY WALKS-NOW WHAT?
Oh don't worry---I found myself the greatest activity to keep me busy ALL summer! M.O.M. took me out to the pond behind our house this morning. I have been playing in it a little because there has been about 2 feet of water in it through the winter. But what a wonderful surprise when I saw my "little" pond this morning!
So it appears that I will be keeping busy for the rest of the summer. Of course, with this beautiful coat I have, the weather won't make any difference when I choose to play in my pond. Oh boy, I am one very happy little puppy!

THIS PUPPIES LAST "GROUP WALK"
M.O.M. and I went on the last group walk of the spring session. After all the snow, wind, hail, rain and sunshine we had yesterday, today was filled with lot's of beautiful sunshine.
I was allowed to run off leash during all of the walk and the other dogs were allowed to (try) to run with me. Buster the Boxer is pretty fast but I learned real fast that I can turn real quick at top speed and he can't so I was able to out wit him often. But it sure was fun to have someone who could keep up with me on the road. Out in the woods I can do pretty well at staying ahead as I turn and run in every direction.
Of course my little friend Jasper was there too and he did try to keep up the best he could but I waited for him so he wouldn't get discouraged. And I had so much fun showing him how much fun going into the culverts can be. I wonder if it will still be fun if we run into a creature of the woods in one of those tunnels someday?
I came home totally worn out and ready to nap away the afternoon. M.O.M. spent much of her time at the sewing machine and I slept under her feet to stay close to her. Ahhh, another wonderful day in Paradise.

MY PUPPY FRIEND IS HERE AGAIN!
My puppy friend is here and this time he finally has a name. His "M.O.M." has decided to call him Jasper and it seems to suit him well.
He wasn't here long when he discovered my little bed and promptly made himself at home in it.
He decided that he needed to rearrange my bedding to better suit his needs so he began chewing on my blanket and tried to pull it about the bed.
But he seemed to forget how little he really was as he took a big bite of the blanket and began to pull with all his might and immediately tumbled right out of my bed onto the floor. I have to admit that it was the funniest thing I had seen all day and I enjoyed it very much! But he was not hurt and jumped right up and began playing again as if nothing had happen.

I had company at my house!
My M.O.M.'s friend found herself a new puppy and we got to babysit him the other day. And I had so much fun with him. He is just about 7 weeks old so we played a lot.
Our tug-of-war game lasted just a little bit because I was so much stronger than this little puppy that M.O.M. was afraid I might hurt him.
