JUST PUT ON MY PUPPY SWEATER PLEASE!
It was so cold today that M.O.M. didn't even open the curtains on the slider to the back deck. So I could only sit and watch the little birds feeding at the birdfeeder by my kennel. I think M.O.M. forgot that I have a nice warm cozy sweater that I can wear out in this kind of weather. Well, maybe it will warm uip at bit more later this afternoon.

PUPPY RULE #1 FINDERS KEEPERS!
M.O.M. was busy organizing her craft room today when I strolled in to see what was keeping her so busy that she couldn't pay more attention to me.
She was too busy to notice that I had picked up a jar full of beads that she had placed on the floor. So when she didn't look my way I quietly walked out the door and into the living room where M.O.D. was sitting.
When M.O.D. asked me where I had found this treasure I tried so very hard to give him that look that says "I found these so they should be mine!!" I did manage to make it into my doggie bed near the front window before M.O.D. could take my prize treasure away from me. He did follow me there and was very kind when he gently took the jar from my mouth.
Of course I was so disappointed to find out that I couldn't keep this wonderful find of mine. M.O.D. did bring me a yummy biscuit to make up for taking my treasure away from me. So I felt much better about the whole experience but that doesn't mean I won't stop trying to find my own pretty treasures again some day.

PUPPIES DREAMS DO COME TRUE!
When I was going out for my morning relief I noticed that it was starting to snow. I thought to myself~~~~could my dreams really come true?
You see, I have been very disappointed ever since all that beautiful fluffy white stuff M.O.M. calls snow had disappeared just a few days ago.
So while I was out running around the yard this morning I wondered if it was possible that I may get to see more of the white stuff called snow.
By the time I was allowed to go out later in the day, I was so excited to see that there was LOT"S of white stuff everywhere!!
I ran and ran and pushed my nose through the snow and I was so happy.
The snow continued to fall all day long and when I went out in the late afternoon I was having so much fun that I didn't respond at first when M.O.M. tried to tell me it was time to come into the house. I just sat down in the wonderful cool snow and thought that just maybe M.O.M. wouldn't see me there. Maybe then I could stay outside and play for hours.
This below photo is zoomed in for a closer look at me trying to act like I didn't hear a thing M.O.M. was saying to me. It was actually taken during the afternoon but because of the heavy snow fall it appears to be dark outside.

M.O.M. did take me out for a wonderful walk this afternoon and she let me go without a leash. Oh, I had so much fun running along the road. And I did shove my little black nose in every pile of deep snow I could find.
Then when we entered the forest she let me run among the big trees. This day was definitely my dreams come true. By the time I was let out for the last time this evening, there was almost 10 inches of snow on the ground so I knew there would be tons of snow for me to play in tomorrow so already I can't wait to wake up in the morning so I can get back out there to play!

PUPPIES ARE VERY SMART!
M.O.D. had forgotten how smart I am and how I never forget anything.
He was enjoy his mid morning snack today sitting in his easy chair when I sidled up beside him and gave him my best sweet look. Of course he fell for my look and gave me a tiny bit of his cheese. WOW! It tasted so very good that I just had to have more!
I spent the next 10 minutes trying to get his attention to tell him that I just had to have more of that delicious tasting treat. Of course M.O.M. scolded M.O.D. for giving me such yummy fattening treats and reminded him that Dr. Joe had just told her that she needed to cut back on the treats. Maybe M.O.M. will be out of the room soon......

A PUPPIES FAMILY OUTING
My family and I went on a little adventure today when M.O.D. and M.O.M. heard on the news that more snow was coming our way. We drove a short distance to the river and I was allowed to run about freely.
There were many large patches of ice and snow just along the river bank and I sure had fun running over them, even though M.O.M. was a bit afraid that I might fall into the cold river. But I kept my eye on the water and never ran too close to the edge.
It has been quite some time since M.O.D. has been able to go on an adventure with us so I stayed pretty close to him so he would know I liked having him near me.
The sky was slowly getting darker so we decided that it was time to go before the snowflakes started coming down. Of course, I felt like I could have stayed here and played for many more hours but I must admit that I was getting a bit wet and cold and tired too, so I willingly climbed back into the truck for the short ride home.

There was a fisherman standing in the middle of the river while I was running around but we made sure we didn't disturb him while he was casting for his catch.
I sure enjoyed our time together in the woods by the river today. I do look forward to many more outings together as our weather warms and spring finally begins.

THIS PUPPY IS READY TO GO CRUISIN
M.O.M. took me to see Doctor Joe, the Vet., because I have been limping again but this time on my left hind leg. Dr. Joe is very nice and gentle with me so I didn't mind when he ran his hands all over my body. As he ran them done my sides he said "Hmmm, to many treats!" So he suggested that M.O.M. hold off on some of the treats to help get my weight down. M.O.M. kind of smiled and said "Okay".
Dr. Joe took me into another room to take some x-rays of my hind legs and hips. He and his assistant were very nice and the procedure didn't take very long. After the x-rays were developed he called M.O.M. and I back into the exam room and showed us the results. He said he felt my problem was not bone related but in my muscles. M.O.M. breathed a sigh of relief. He said I would benefit from some form of rest to try to heal. He said to keep me quiet if possible. M.O.M. laughed and said "Oh, are you taking her home with you?!!"
M.O.M. knows it is impossible to keep an 8 month old Aussie puppy quiet for more than 30 seconds so this idea may be a problem. But Dr. Joe gave us some pills to help relieve that swelling and pain and I should be feeling better in a few weeks. And M.O.M. said she would keep me on a leash on our daily walks for awhile. And yes, she said she would agree to cut back on the treats. Darn, that is one thing I didn't want to hear!

THIS IS ONE POOPED PUPPY!
M.O.M. and I and our friend Glennie have been walking each day on our road in between snow storms. And I think I have finally worn myself out.
Today as we were walking back down the hill from our 30 minute walk, I was actually walking quietly beside M.O.M. I had been off my leash for awhile each day and I covered as much ground as possible during my 'freedom'.
When we returned home I had my small snack and climbed into my bed as I knew I needed to recharged my energy battery. You never know when another fast walking opportunity may come around. Soon I was slipping into my dreams.

I MADE SOME DOG FRIENDS TODAY!
M.O.M. and I went on a walk down our road this afternoon. About 1/2 mile down the road two big black dogs from the white house came out into the road to greet us. I have seen them each time we walked by but they didn't seem to want to be my friend.
But today they were excited to see us. The old one was the first one to meet us. He was happy to greet me but I think he was much more interested to see if M.O.M. had any treats hidden in her pockets.
A few minutes later the younger one approach me but growled at me in a very low voice. Since I am still a puppy I assumed that she was happy to see me but she stayed back from me. After a few minutes I realized that she was afraid that M.O.M. was going to chase her away. The big dog looked surprised when M.O.M. smiled and called to her in a cheery voice.
M.O.M. called her by her name which I remembered was Molly and she instantly began to take the "let's play" stance.
M.O.M. did keep me on my 20 foot long leash because she knew I would be so excited that I wouldn't realize how fast and far I can run when playing with other dogs. Molly seemed to understand that I was stuck on my leash as she played close to us.
I was panting pretty hard when M.O.M. said we needed to head home. I was sorry to have to go and tried to continue playing as we headed down the road. The two black dogs followed us down the road but M.O.M. made me stay in the "heal" position to help quiet me down.
Both dogs followed me over to my little kennel but "Molly" headed home when M.O.M. came back out onto the deck and told her to go. The old one laid down next to my kennel to rest and M.O.M. let him rest there until he was able to return home.
This was a very fun day and I do hope for more play dates with many of the dogs in our little neighborhood in the days to come. But right now I really need to take a nap as I am having trouble keeping my pretty brown eyes open.......
