ONE AWESOME WALK!

I heard M.O.M. putting on her walking shoes today so I got real excited hoping I was going to get to go with her.  Yes, I usually make sure I am at the door and ready to go when she gets to the front door!

Of course she always let's me go with her.

And I must say it was one of the best walks we have been on in a long time.
We headed down the street and I got real excited when I realized we were going to walk on the harbor trail.
As we approached the end of the street I realized that M.O.M. was letting me go on this walk without my leash!  Oh boy!  This is going to be the best walk ever!

We walked farther around the harbor on our trail than we had ever walked before.  And we saw many new sites too.  M.O.M. was real excited when 2 American Bald Eagles flew very close to us and she was able to get a few pictures of them before they flew on with their journey.

Of course I ran and ran exploring everything everywhere. So many new smells and sites. We came to a fork in the road and at first took the trail to the left. But several yards down the trail we came to a bridge. Unfortunately the bridge surface was made of a type of grating and it frightened me when I approached it.  And M.O.M. didn't want to have to carry me over this rather long bridge so we went back and took the trail to the right.
This new trail went on forever and ever!  But because we were on this new trail all by ourselves, M.O.M. decided that we should turn around and head back because we were already more than a half hour from our street. She said we will come back here when M.O.D. is with us and see where this long straight trails actually goes and see if it has an end.

So off I went running everywhere...as usual.

I am sure M.O.M. noticed that as we approached the beginning of our street, that I wasn't running any more. But walking along the side of the street heading home.

So M.O.M. wasn't surprised to walk into the living room not long after we returned home to find me asleep in the middle of the room.  Just moments before this picture was taken I had been very busy chewing on the rawhide that you can see in the picture.

Yes, this is a embarrassing photo of myself as I didn't know I feel asleep with my little leg straight up in the air!!
But gosh, I am soooo tired!

"THEME DAY"

I decided to make today "THEME DAY" because it is to cold to venture outside to find things to post on Mistaya's blog.

Can you tell what our theme is??
Is it about sharing your wonderful sticks?
Is it about getting that wonderful massage at last?
Is it about always wanting to be first?
Is it about being the tallest?
Maybe it is about who can take the best nap.
Is it about who can see the UPS man first because he always brings biscuits?

It isn't about who is the toughest!

It's about BEING FRIENDS!!!!

And because it is Thanksgiving week we thought it was the appropriate time to give thanks for all of our wonderful Blogger Friends that have been with us since we started this fun website with Mistaya.

We have enjoyed all your comments and even just your visits to our site.
And we look forward to the coming year and sharing all our new adventures here in our new home by the sea.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OUR BLOGGER FRIENDS!!!

AMAZING EAGLE STORY

This post is a email I received a few days ago. I planned to post it just on my other blog... http://seasonsadventures.blogspot.com but for those of you that haven't been there I will post it here on Mistaya's blog. It is quite the amazing photo story of 2 beautiful eagles.
Notice the gentleman sitting on the tailgate of the pickup in the top of the first photo. He has no idea what an amazing act of Nature he is missing right before his eyes!
This American Bald Eagle in the above photo has spotted a small duck on the river and is heading for him...
The little duck watches as the Eagle speeds straight at him at about 40 mph.

With perfect timing, the duck always dove and escaped with a mighty splash! Then he'd pop to the surface as soon as the Eagle flew past. This was repeated over and over for several minutes. I worried the poor duck would tire and that would be the end of him.

A second Eagle joins the attack! You can see his magnificent white tail spread to it's full glory near the top of the photo. The duck kept diving "just in time", so the Eagles began to dive into the water after him!

After several minutes the Eagles got frustrated and began to attack each other. They soon began to dive vertically, level out, and attack head-on in a good old-fashioned game of high-speed "Chicken". Sometimes they banked away from each other at the last possible second. Other times they'd climb vertically and tear into each other while falling back toward the water. (The duck catches his breath at the right side of this picture.)

A terrible miscalculation! The luckiest shot of my life catches this 100 mph head-on collision between two Bald Eagles.

One Eagle stayed aloft and flew away, but the other lies motionless in a crumpled heap. The lucky duck survived to live another day.

It's sad to watch an Eagle drown. He wiggled, flapped and struggled mostly underwater. He finally got his head above water and with great difficulty managed to get airborne. To my astonishment, he flew straight toward me, and it was the most wretched and unstable bird flight I've ever seen!

The bedraggled Eagle circled me once - then lit atop a nearby fir tree. He had a six-foot wingspread and looked mighty angry. I was concerned that I might be his next target, but he was so exhausted he just stared at me. Then I wondered if he would topple to the ground as he tried to dry his feather.

My half-hour wait was rewarded with this marvelous sight. He flew away, almost good as new.
I am sorry that I do not know who the aurthor or photographer of this email is. But it is one of the most amazing email I have seen in a very long time.
