WE ARE BUILDING A NEW KIND OF SNOWMAN

Yes, this is what our yard by the sea looks like at the moment.

Little Mistaya went outside to do her chores and somewhere along the way she found one of her well hidden rawhide chew bones under all this snow!
Of course she didn't even make it to the front door when she remembered that inside the house was her empty food bowl so she is staying outside to eat this treasure...no matter what the winter conditions.

But as you can see, a blizzard has hit our little home and she seems to be either disappearing or trying to pretend she is a new style snowman!

You see, Mistaya is on a diet and I am sure she decided she would rather take her chances with the stormy weather than give up this yummy, soggy, snow soaked rawhide chew for an empty food bowl.

Of course I became worried about her so I finally got her to come in the house before she froze like a snowman.

Oh, She came in because I let her bring in her rawhide snow soaked chew.  That was the only way she really wanted to come inside on this wintry night!

Of course the snowflakes that had accumulated on her back had frozen into one big black dogie hair ice cube.

  2. Hi Jazzi, at the moment I am curled up on the couch on a very soft warm blanket beside M.O.M.

  3. Minnie hides her chewies all over the yard. I come home and a dirt covered chewy is invariably in my bed.

  4. We know all about diets as Mistaya does, she was smart to remember where her chew was stashed.
We had about 3 inches of snow last night, but it is melting away due to the rain we had, and now the warm wind.

  5. Barbara, we find Mistaya's chews in very strange places. One day I watched her hide one in the backyard and I went out later and hide it in a different location. It was amazing to watch her go straight to the spot where she hid it and realize it was not there. Of course I couldn't stand the worried look on her face for very long as she hunted everywhere for her chew.
She knows the command "search" so I went out and stood real close to where I had hidden it and gave her the command. She started searching whererever I pointed and when I pointed to my hiding spot she found it immediatley.
Her intensness made me feel bad about hiding her treasure. She is such a good dog, I just had to give her a great big hug!

  7. My dog Radar doesn't really like the snow- or rain. I have to tell him there's a kitty cat outside before he'll venture out to pee!

  8. Rae, You really made me laugh when I read your comment because I have used that same scam on Mistaya many times. I let her out the front door and tell her to go check something in the back yard..the cat thing ALWAYS works on her! :)

  10. I hate to burst your bubble but those raw hides the dogs love so very much cause kidney failure in time. Amanda was so in love with them she begged for them all the time. I knew they were not good for her but thought one every once in a while wouldn't hurt. I was wrong!!!
So wrong!!! I lost her to kidney failure when she was only 10 years old.
Thank you for your good wishes. When I have these flair ups it usually last as much as 10 days to 2 weeks. So I probably have more dizzy spells and hope they don't make me pass out!!
