I received an email from Mistaya's new mom. She said Mistaya's younger brother pulled a large salmon from the river then proceeded to eat it. When discovered this activity they rushed him to the Vet and he is now fighting Salmonella. (?) He has been given fluids and antibiotics. He is doing better and should recover fully.
They were pleased that Mistaya did not partake in the feast of the fish. I told her we had spent quite a bit of time on each trip to the sea teaching Mistaya that she was not to roll in or eat anything on the beach. Thank God that she remembered her training, I am afraid she is small enough that she may not have survived the ordeal.
Thank you my dear Mistaya for being such a smart little girl. We love you!!
We hope you are back on your feet real soon Gunner. I imagine Mistaya misses her play dates with you.

How scary for Mistaya's brother! We're so happy to hear that he's on the mend. You're a very smart girl, Mistaya!

Mitch and Molly
Susie and Sidebite, we are so thankful for training that stays hidden away in Mistaya's little heart that helped her to stay save. And we are so happy that Gunner is on the mend. Her new mom was so worried thru all of this and are so happy they are both well!
ReplyDeleteMitch and Molly, we are so thankful that Mistaya is so smart. And she has spent most of her time staying close to brother 'Gunner" trying to help him get better. We are proud of her and miss her like crazy!
