TREASURE IN THE SEA

Because of the low tides we were able to see many amazing sites near the rocks that are usually cover by the sea at Ruby Beach on the Washington Coast.
This bright orange little shell caught my attention so I clicked this photo. When I enlarged it I was surprised to see similar shells all around it in different colors.  I have never found a shell at this beach in this bright orange color.  But it's little creature was still occupying it so of course I left them alone.
I enjoy finding this type of shell in my beach combing. They are rather fragile so it is wonderful to find one that is complete without any holes or chipped away pieces.  This shell is still occupied and living right next to a sea Anemone that is closed into it's self until the tide returns to cover him in sea water.  The green slime seems to be a protection for it.
I liked the formation of these shells and thought they made an interesting pattern.
This is a Sea Anemone that has sea water covering it.  Apparently they capture tiny sea creatures in their tentacles.
We had a wonderful time at Ruby Beach during this low tide. An there were not as many tourists as during our last visit.
