PitaPata - Personal picturePitaPata Dog tickers

June 08, 2011

We visited the beach when the tide was the lowest of the month.  We had a good time but the treasures were few.

But we did see several of Natures treasures.
We have never photographed any of these creatures here because the tide has never been this low during our previous visits
Shell treasures were very scarce and hard to find.

I did find some beautiful shells but they were still being inhabited by their sea creature renters.
So those were left where they were found among the rocks, caught there by the very low tide.

The photo below was taken from a earlier visit to the same beach.  If you notice the land jutting out into the sea, that is the area of the jetty that Mistaya and Maggie got caught on when the waves suddenly went far out to sea then caught them both as the waves came back in.
In the photo below you can still see that same part of the jetting.  But as you can see, there is no more sea around the jetting itself.  Just large rocks that are normally several feet under the sea during normal tides.
It was a strange site to see so much beach at our favorite spot.  We plan to return to the beach during high tide real soon. That should be a completely different picture of the 2 above photos.

But we did come upon a very strange sea creature that day on the beach..
Yes, it is a snake. I can't even begin to guess where he came from!
And no, I don't want to even know!

  1. I just want to know how you knew the snake was a he? :)

  2. what great finds you found on the beach - those are some interesting creatures.

  3. Oh Jackdaddy, It really was rather simple...when the snake made a noise at us it was not a sound like a girl which would have been "Heeeerrrrr". It was more of a "Hiiiiisss" sound.
Hugs and giggles, Mistaya and Maggie :)

  4. Reilly / Bree, we really do have a lot of fun at the beach. There always seems to be something new to investigate on every trip.
Hugs and wags, Mistaya and Maggie

  5. What gorgeous photos!
Our mom is squirming. She doesn't like snakes!

    Love ya lots
    Maggie and Mitch

  6. The beach looks so inviting! and I love to photograph all of nature's little beauties...great pictures! I've not spent any time near the beach, but you sure have made it part of my bucket list! Hope this finds you enjoying good weather and good health!

  7. Really low tides always revel the best treasures, but like you mentioned most are still inhabited. I have never seen a snake on the beach, how odd.
